A coronavirus vaccine ID card has been introduced in Turkey, according to Hürriyet Daily News.

The card has been activated via an application that manages COVID-19 contacts, Hayat Eve S??ar (HES) system. This comes as the use of vaccine passports takes effect when travelling to European Union countries.

Persons who have completed both COVID-19 doses can create their vaccine ID card through the HES system. It will also be possible for people to add their passport numbers in the application for the ID cards. This will enable the HES system to capture their passport data and include it in the vaccine ID card.

The vaccine ID card will include a person’s name, the vaccine status, the vaccination date, a QR code and the safe tourism logo.

The QR code will redirect relevant regulators to e-Nab?z, a website that handles the vaccine appointments and also shows if people are eligible for the jab. The vaccine ID card’s info will be available in both English and Turkey when scanned.

Hungary and Turkey will recognize the coronavirus safe travel certificates. As such, residents in the two countries can travel without a negative PCR coronavirus test.

This comes as Serbia and Turkey plan to lift travel restrictions between the two countries.

So far, 25.2 million coronavirus doses have been administered. Approximately, 14.7 people have received the initial dose while 10.6 have received both doses.
