Their cooperation is expected to decrease delivery times by 1-1.5 days
A European e-commerce fashion and lifestyle platform, Zalando, has endorsed a cooperation deal with DHL Supply Chain Iberia. The online platform is about to operate its first logistics point in Spain (Illescas, Toledo).
DHL Supply Chain Iberia will generate 600 long term positions, as they will regulate the employees’ formation. For this reason, Zalando will low the transfer time for Spanish clients.
Zalando’s first logistics point in Spain will increase future clients in the region. GLP, a global logistics investor and developer, has prepared more than 37,500 square meters for storage and delivery parks. The start is predicted by March 2021.
The first Spanish point is about 40 kilometers aside from Madrid. One of the most important choosing factors was a huge road network. It’s connecting the logistics point with continental Spain. Besides this point, Zalando intends to expand the logistics network with 12 centers over 6 markets in Europe.
We’ve reported that Zalando acquired Fision, a Swiss company that offers a mobile body scanning solution.
