Stripe announced its expansion in Canada with a focus on the new flagship office in Toronto, aiming to accelerate the growth of Canadian businesses.
The new Toronto office at 1 University Avenue will support the thousands of Canadian businesses that have grown their payment volume on Stripe by more than 50% over the last two years.
Stripe serves many of Canada’s leading companies such as Enercare, Shopify, SkipTheDishes and FreshBooks, as well as fast-growing local startups and platforms such as Workleap and Thinkific.
Earlier this month, Stripe partnered with Shoplazza, a Canadian e-commerce store website builder platform, to develop a new payment product with real-time insights into e-commerce operations and improved acquisition and settlement of online orders for businesses.
Today, the company is looking forward to growing its local team and accelerating the success of even more Canadian businesses, said Matthew Burlak head of Canada GTM at Stripe.
The payment company offers a range of convenient and innovative solutions for e-commerce. Just over the last year, Stripe introduced new features for Canadian businesses like Adaptive Pricing, which localises prices across 150 markets, contactless in-person payments using Tap to Pay on iPhone, Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, which creates an effortless shopping experience at venues like Scotiabank Saddledome and Scotiabank Arena, and complex revenue models with Stripe Billing’s usage-based billing.
