Integration of Buy with Prime into Shopify stores aims to increase shopper conversion by an average of 25%
Amazon and Shopify teamed up to enable US-based Shopify merchants to offer “Buy with Prime” on Shopify stores. Integration of the Buy with Prime button into the existing Shopify checkout will not change the shopper experience but is supposed to empower merchants with enhanced customer conversion.
The ‘Buy with Prime’ option provides transparent delivery estimates, fast and free shipping, a secure checkout process, and easy returns through Amazon’s fulfilment network. The new feature allows online consumers to purchase their items using the store payment method in their Amazon wallet while processing payments through Shopify checkout.
The move is a U-turn of the Shopify’s previous policies. Just a year ago, using Buy with Prime violated Shopify’s terms of service. The company offered its own payment and checkout service, Shop Pay, instead.
However, today, Shopify promises to give its merchants and their customers more choice. Namely, they will give Prime members access to Prime benefits outside of Amazon.com. At the same time, Shopify merchants continue to maintain 100% control of their brand and their customer data in Shopify’s admin profile.
To enable the option, merchants should add the Buy with Prime app from the Shopify app ecosystem directly into Shopify Checkout.
