AWS Launches AI Startup Accelerator in China

AWS Launches AI Startup Accelerator in China

The cloud computing subsidiary of US e-commerce leader Amazon, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced?the accelerator that focuses on helping AI startups operating in China.

The accelerator will have a few phases. Initially, it will focus on enabling AI startups to quickly launch products online. The startups involved will deal with a range of innovative technologies including generative AI, corporate service software, e-commerce solutions, and smart car solutions.

Later on, the accelerator will help Chinese startups speed up their global business deployment, as most of the emerging industry players are eyeing the international market.

Many startups will begin to develop basic models of generative AI applications today, as the technology becomes increasingly popular. However, to succeed in this and use the full AI potential, firms need “cloud platforms of ultra-large-scale and high cost-performance ratio to support continuous training and large-scale reasoning,” says Zhang Wenyi, an executive director and global vice president of AWS China.

Earlier this month, AWS announced the launch of a program designed to accelerate the process of implementing artificial intelligence by consumers. The new AWS Generative AI innovation center will unite the company’s artificial intelligence and machine learning specialists with customers and partners around the world within a single organization.

In April, Amazon introduced the Bedrock application that provides customers with access to basic AI models developed by AWS and other companies.
