Montgomery County Public Schools became the first in the world offering a library book drone delivery service
Kelly Passek, a middle school librarian, has teamed up with drone service Wing to deliver books to students of Montgomery County Public Schools in Christiansburg, VA via drones.
According to Pasek, she loves getting fresh pastries and home essentials delivered by drone.? But she wondered if this technology could also help kids checkout books due to the fact the libraries are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The service has rolled out on a limited trial basis with Wing’s first deliveries, encouraging students to keep reading during the lockdown.
