According to the research, online marketplaces, such as Amazon, were four-times more popular than retailers’ own websites or apps.

The data found that since March, 69% of Brits regularly shopped online. 57% of them made a purchase from an online marketplace, compared with just 13% who bought directly from the retailers’ websites.

That demonstrates the appeal of quick and one-stop shopping experiences to customers online and offline.

Besides, between March and June, the average shopper made 11 purchases from an online marketplace and only 3 from an online retailer.

We’ve reported that Brits are planning to spend an average of £195 each on the high street on post-lockdown treats, equating to £9.3 billion.
