The chief information security officer of TikTok has confirmed the social video company’s plans
According to ComputerWeekly.com, TikTok plans to open its first European datacentre in Ireland in early 2022. The launch is a part of an ongoing push by China’s social networking service to safeguard European user data.
The company’s global chief information security officer Roland Cloutier revealed that about €420 million will be spent on the project.
Besides, that would create additional workplaces and deliver an enhanced user experience for TikTokers.
The report states that TikTok already has a growing presence in Ireland, following the launch of TikTok’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Trust and Safety Hub in Dublin at the start of 2020.
