Customers are more and more looking for pre-owned items due to sustainability and desire to enrich their looks with unique things
According to Ecommerce News, Zalando will launch a ‘Pre-Owned’ category in its platform.? This fall, Germany will be the first market to offer this service, being available in the women’s, men’s and kids’ segments.
Zalando is willing to become the starting point for fashion. Since it will now let customers buy and sell secondhand fashion online, this ambitious goal is becoming more realistic.
However, offering pre-owned items on its platform isn’t completely new for Zalando. Thanks to the Wardrobe app and a 6-month pilot of an offline Zircle store in Berlin, the fashion giant gained some experience with pre-owned fashion.
After the ‘Pre-Owned’ category goes live on Zalando, customers will be able to purchase a product by clicking on the category and shop items that once previously belonged to other Zalando customers.
Besides, customers who want to sell their goods can submit the items, after which a quality check will take place.
In addition to that, Zalando also announced its expansion across Europe by opening a local warehouse in Spain.
