Nets, a payment service provider from the Nordics, has announced its strategic alliance with Przelewy24. This is a major online payment service provider from Poland. This news comes after Nets recently acquired Dotpay/eCard, Ecommerce News reports.

According to?Nets, the Nordic company will attain a majority stake of 51% in the consolidated group that includes Przelewy24 and Dotpay/eCard. Nets says this deal and the strategic alliance with Przelewy24 represent a “significant entry” into Poland.

Poland is characterized by solid growth in e-commerce volumes and high growth potential through cash to digital payments conversion”, the company explains. According to Statista,?ecommerce in Poland?is expected to show revenue growth of 9.4 percent in 2020.

Piotr Kurczewski, who will remain as CEO of Przelewy24 and shareholder with 49% of the consolidated group, thinks his company can further strengthen their combined merchant services portfolio.

Nets has partnered with over 400,000 merchants, including 35,000 online merchants, more than 240,000 enterprises and over 240 banks across the Nordic region and mainland Europe.
