EU and India have re-established their commitment to accessible, free, and open cyberspace.

The Indian delegation was led by Dr. S Janakiraman while the EU delegation was led by Joanneke Balfoort.

The two parties discussed areas of cooperation in cyberspace including regional settings, regional cooperation, and multilateral cooperation.

The discussions also involved regional and multilateral cooperation on the balance of cyberspace. This includes relevant discussions at UN platforms, OEWG, GGE as well as other regional frameworks. Among the issues discussed include the EU Cyber diplomacy toolbox, exchanges on cyber policies, emerging cyber-related technologies, and internet governance.

The two parties re-established their devotion to free, open, peaceful, accessible, and secure cyberspace. This will not only enhance innovation but also economic growth.

Both parties will follow the basic values and rules set by each one of them in cyberspace and governance. This includes fundamental freedoms, democratic values, and the rule of law.

The next India-EU dialogue will be held in Brussels.

We’ve reported that WhatsApp Pay is now live in India. In partnership with HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank, the app will now offer payment services to its users.
