Open Banking Expo, the leading global community of Open Banking and Open Finance executives, is bringing together financial services and fintech innovators, visionaries, and disruptors on November 23-24 to help unlock all that Open Banking has to offer to consumers and businesses in Canada.
Bill Morneau, Senior Fellow, Jackson Institute and former finance minister of Canada, will kick off the two-day virtual event by giving delegates the inside track on the country’s path towards Open Banking so far.
This year’s program offers a wide range of content, including panel debates, keynotes with industry overview, analysis and opinion on a breadth of topics such as the role of Open Banking in the post-Covid recovery, the security and privacy debate around data, commercial opportunities for small businesses, and what consumer-directed finance means for Canadians.
In addition to the breadth of speakers from across Canada, the delegates will hear from a number of international industry leading practitioners, including:
- Scott Farrell, Co-Chair, Australian Government & #39’s FinTech Advisory Group, who led the Australian Government’s review into Open Banking
- Paul Franklin, General Manager at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission,
- Diogo Silva, Head of Division, Banco Central do Brasil
- Emma Steeley, CEO of the UK-based AccountScore
- John MacKinley, CEO of New York-based CAARY
- Mayank Mishra, Global Head of Digital Channels, Citi, New York
The latest program and speaker roster can be found on the event web page.
Hundreds of C-level and senior-level delegates from across the financial services sector are expected to attend and exchange ideas and insights on what the future Open Banking roadmap and what a “made-in-Canada” approach to its implementation will look like following the release of the Final Report by the Canadian Government’s Advisory Committee on Open Banking.
This year’s event drew support from existing and new partners. Equifax Canada, the event headline partner for the third year in a row, was joined by a number of industry names that have been pioneering Open Banking in Canada for the past couple of years, including platinum partners Axway, PortfolioPlus, and Tata Consultancy Services, associate partners Oolys and Symcor, and event partner a not-for-profit advocacy organisation, Open Banking Initiative Canada (OBIC).
Earlier this year, OBIC joined forces with Open Banking Expo to support the growth of Open Banking and Open Finance in Canada.
