Adyen and Shopify Partner to Strengthen E-Commerce Capabilities for Enterprise Merchants

Adyen, the global fintech platform, on June 21 announced a new partnership with Shopify, an e-commerce infrastructure provider, to provide large-scale enterprise customers with the momentum needed to succeed in the fast-moving e-commerce industry.

As part of a multi-year partner strategy, Adyen is now supporting Shopify’s expansion into the enterprise sector with diversified commerce solutions for large-scale merchants that strengthen e-commerce capabilities, simplify the customer journey and solve payment complexity.

It is expected that the enhanced offering will enable merchants around the globe to maximize their revenue and scale their business faster.

Adyen’s payment app on the Shopify Payment Partner Platform will be available later this year. When enterprise merchants will set up their Shopify platform?components, they may integrate Adyen as a payments provider. During the first integration phase, the?payments app will support major cards plus digital wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The support for local payment methods is expected to appear later this year.

The app is pre-built, providing a seamless experience for the Shopify enterprise end user. The pre-installed integration removes the burden on the system integrators and eliminates previous payment hurdles.

Therefore, large businesses will be able to accept and process payments as quickly as possible, while also getting a seamless way to expand to new markets by leveraging Adyen’s access to major payment methods combined with Shopify’s high-converting checkout solution.

The offering comes at a critical time when seven out of ten retailers report planning to expand into new markets this year. Besides, up to 55% of businesses worldwide reported being in better fiscal conditions in 2023 because of the diversified revenue generated from various global locations.

A partnership between Adyen and Shopify will provide large-scale retailers with a single centralized system to manage commerce and payments and integrate their in-house software with third-party or custom systems.

Earlier this year, Adyen integrated the Click To Pay experience into its online checkout flow in all available markets, enabling even guest shoppers to bypass manual data entry.
